BRIDGING COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE AMERICAS

The Latino Cannabis Alliance believes that the fight for cannabis equity does not stop at the U.S. border. Latinos in the United States and throughout Latin America share a common history with cannabis prohibition, one marked by disproportionate criminalization, exclusion from emerging legal markets, and policies shaped without our communities at the table.

LCA is committed to changing that by building lasting, reciprocal connections across the hemisphere. We approach this work as partners and collaborators, not as exporters of a U.S. model, recognizing that each country and community holds its own knowledge, cultural context, and vision for what equitable reform looks like.

OUR CROSS-BORDER WORK

Connecting diaspora communities with their homelands: fostering dialogue and solidarity between stateside Latinos and advocates, entrepreneurs, and policymakers across Latin America
Supporting culturally informed legalization and decriminalization efforts: centering the priorities, traditions, and lived experiences of local communities rather than imposing frameworks developed elsewhere
Learning as much as we share: approaching Latin American partners as experts in their own right, and bringing those perspectives back to strengthen advocacy and policy work in the U.S.
Amplifying Latin American voices in U.S. policy spaces: ensuring that the lived experiences of communities across the hemisphere inform domestic cannabis legislation and equity programs
Building an international Latino advocacy network: creating durable infrastructure for connection, coordination, and mutual support across borders. This means developing shared spaces, both digital and in-person, where advocates, attorneys, entrepreneurs, and community organizers across the U.S. and Latin America can exchange resources, align on strategy, and amplify one another's work. Our goal is a network that moves together on shared priorities while honoring the distinct needs and leadership of each community within it.
